I have transfered my refined contour drawing to an acetate model to show interior spaces that can be created. I have chosen to use a cube as the platonic solid shape as it fits most of my contours onto it. The acetate model clearly shows relationships between different shapes formed by the contours. This model was difficult to construct cleanly, but I believe I have created a professional finish to my model.

Contour Refinement - Jarrod van Driel
Using instruments I have refined my original contour drawing. I have tried to keep to the original forms and shapes of the contours as much as possible.
My refined contours show a clearer and cleaner image of the original contour drawing and can clearly be related back.
As intended i have kept to the contour drawings original form as much as possible. This ensures I don't lose the feeling of the contours and they clearly relate to one another.
Rendered Contour Drawing
I have experimented using different types of rendering over my contours. They show how the contours vary from each other in different ways. I have chosen the close cross hatching as my final rendering. I believe it best shows the differentiation between the contours and the changing directions ensures the contours do not mold into one another.
Contour Drawings - Jarrod van Driel
These contour drawings are based off my chosen ink blot. The contours are influenced by the varying tones in the ink and the shapes the ink creates. I have experimented using varying line weights to show different heights in the contours. The light line weight contours are low and furthest away. The darker line weight contours and higher and closer. The final image is the contour map I will continue with as it best shows line weights and the varying contours.
Ink Blots - Jarrod van Driel
By using a variety of folding techniques I was able to create 10 different ink blots. I tried to create different ink blots with symmetry, asymmetry, varying positive and negative spaces.
This is the ink blot I have chosen to continue with in my project. I have chosen it over the other ink blots because of its symmetry and curvaceous nature. Varying tones in the ink can be seen which adds interest to the ink blot.

starting my analatical drawing
Building one in its context
Im going to further research way of drawing diagrams as i feel this is looking a little childish

descriptive geometry
My first attempt to find the different views of my oblique face. My true shape was correct from these drawings but my measurements weren't exact enough so i will have to re-do them. Turns out it is just as hard the second time around! Looking foward to playing with the plaster/wood and paper models from these shapes.
